Pyet, whose name is a shortened version of her inherited Native American name Pyetwetmokwe, is a proud member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation Tribe.
As a globally recognized private chef, Pyet has achieved numerous accolades, including being the first winner of Gordon Ramsay's groundbreaking TV show, Next Level Chef, on Fox. In 2021, she was honored as one of the Top 25 best private chefs in Los Angeles by Entrepreneur Magazine.
Pyet's life's work is dedicated to the innovative concept of Indigenous Fusion Cuisine, where she skillfully combines the culinary traditions of her Native American and Mexican heritage. Her passion lies in uplifting indigenous culture and traditions through storytelling, traveling, and cooking.
Pyet's childhood was spent partially on the Osage Indian Reservation and the remainder in Kansas City, Kansas. She later relocated to Los Angeles, California, to promote wellness and nutrition through food. Her passion for cooking developed at a young age while assisting in the kitchen, where she was fascinated by the aromas and spices in her family's taquerias and restaurants in the Kansas City area.
Pyet pursued a culinary education by attending culinary school and earned a certification in Wellness & Nutrition. In 2015, she founded her personal chef business, Pyet's Plate, with the mission of promoting wellness, nutrition, and quality food to the public.
Today, Pyet's focus is on promoting the use of Indigenous ingredients in everyday cooking, with the ultimate goal of encouraging others to pass along healthy cooking, lifestyle choices, and traditions within their own families.
