Stephane Riethauser, a multifaceted individual, was born in 1972 in the cosmopolitan city of Geneva, Switzerland. He embarked on a journey of academic pursuits, graduating with a law degree from the prestigious University of Geneva.
Throughout his career, Riethauser has worn many hats, including that of a teacher, gay activist, photographer, editor, journalist, and translator. His diverse experiences have ultimately led him to become a television director.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Riethauser is a published author, having written the photography book "A Visage Decouvert" (Ed. Slatkine, 2000),which explores the theme of coming out. This book serves as a testament to his passion for storytelling and his commitment to promoting diversity and inclusivity.
Riethauser's work in television has been extensive, with numerous documentaries and reports for Swiss Radio Television RTS (2003-2008). One of his most notable projects, "Le Temps Suspendu" (Frozen in time),is a documentary about the life and work of Swiss painter Marius Borgeaud, released in 2007.
Since 2009, Riethauser has relocated to Berlin, where he continues to work as an independent filmmaker. He is currently preparing the release of his first fiction short film, "Prora", a testament to his dedication to his craft and his pursuit of creative excellence.
