Stefano Bessoni, a renowned artist, was born in Rome, Italy in 1965. He pursued his passion for the arts-visual field and graduated from the prestigious School of Fine Arts in Rome.
Throughout his career, Bessoni has worn many hats, including camera operator, director of photography, and editor. His extensive experience in the film industry spanned over eight years, from 1990 to 1998.
In 1998, Bessoni had the privilege of collaborating with the acclaimed director Pupi Avati. This marked the beginning of a new chapter in his career, which would see him working on various projects that showcased his unique blend of creativity and expertise.
The National Museum of Art and Folk Traditions has published an essay on Bessoni's work, titled "Through the Mirror". This publication also includes the script and drawings of his movie "Grimm and the cruelty theatre", a testament to his versatility as an artist.
In 1995, Bessoni received the prestigious Fedic "Claudio Pastori" award, which recognized his dedication, innovative approach, and passion for exploring the relationships between cinema, painting, history, traditions, and folk beliefs.
In 1998, a personal exhibition was dedicated to Bessoni at the Messina Video Festival, titled "Eye of the Cyclops", showcasing his artistic prowess to a wider audience.
In addition to his work in the film industry, Bessoni is also an accomplished illustrator. Since 2000, he has been teaching direction at the NUCT (New Cinema and Television University) in Cinecittà, sharing his knowledge and expertise with the next generation of filmmakers.
