Biography

Stefan Kubicki is a multifaceted filmmaker of Polish and American descent, boasting an impressive portfolio of work in the realm of cinema.

His inaugural short film, "East" (Wschód),holds a unique distinction as the first narrative film to be shot within the Chernobyl Zone.

Prior to embarking on his filmmaking journey, Kubicki honed his skills as a cinematographer at the prestigious Polish National Film School.

He went on to further his education by earning a Master of Fine Arts degree in directing from the esteemed AFI Conservatory in Los Angeles.

During his time at the AFI Conservatory, Kubicki received a plethora of accolades, including the Richard P. Rogers Award, a Student Academy Award nomination, and a staggering number of international festival prizes for his thought-provoking short film, "Against Night".

This cinematic masterpiece tells the poignant story of a cosmonaut grappling with the weight of memory.

Kubicki's first feature-length film, "Safe Space", made its premiere in 2022, marking a significant milestone in his illustrious career as a filmmaker.
