Stacey Martino, a Philadelphia native, has made a profound impact in the world of arts and activism. Her extensive repertoire includes writing, performing, and producing plays, films, and events that strive to create a better world for everyone.
One of her most notable works is the touring play "The Gift of Peace," which has been met with critical acclaim. Additionally, her one-woman show "A Slow Crawl Home" is a poignant exploration of homelessness, shedding light on the often-overlooked struggles of those affected.
As a Lifetime Member of The Actors Studio, Stacey has taught acting in Los Angeles for over a decade and conducts annual workshops in Europe. Her students have garnered numerous awards and nominations for their work in theater, film, and television.
Furthermore, Stacey is a dedicated member of Stop Genocide Now, a team she co-founded to create Camp Darfur, an educational traveling refugee camp that serves as a museum dedicated to remembering the genocides of the 20th century and stopping the current one in Darfur. The camp has traveled extensively, including a visit to the United Nations.
Stacey has also traveled to the refugee camps on the Chad/Darfur border with Stopgenocidenow.org founder Gabriel Stauring as part of i-Act 2, an interactive citizen reporting team that connects people on a grassroots level. This experience has led to her current project, "Refuge," a solo show that delves into the lives of everyday people affected by genocide and those who have stood up on their behalf throughout history.
