Sophie's initial foray into the film industry was as a reader of fan mail for the popular television series The L Word.
She subsequently pursued higher education at Simon Fraser University, where she crafted a short film titled The Worst Day Ever, which made its highly anticipated premiere at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival in the year 2012.
In recent years, Sophie's work has included the production of Medical Drama, which received critical acclaim and screened at the Clermont Ferrand International Film Festival in 2019.
Furthermore, Sophie co-directed the stop motion animation film Zeb's Spider, in collaboration with Alicia Eisen, and had the privilege of working with the esteemed National Film Board as the producer.
As an award-winning production designer, Sophie's experience and expertise in this field have significantly influenced her approach to directing.
Sophie's feature film directorial debut, Until Branches Bend, is a Canada-Swiss co-production that has been jointly produced by Experimental Forest Films, Ceroma Films, Reign Films, and Cinédokké, with a planned release date set for the fall of 2022.
