Soledad St. Hilaire was born on October 25, 1950, at 11:00pm, in Santo Tomas Hospital, located in the City of Panama. She graduated from Panama School in 1969 and subsequently moved to Los Angeles, California, in 1970 to attend California Business College. Currently, she is enrolled in Cypress College, where she is pursuing an intensive theater program, with aspirations to earn a Law Degree in the future.
Ms. St. Hilaire is a single mother to a supportive daughter, Sabella St. Hilaire, who is also an actress and has been a constant source of encouragement for her mother's career.
In January 1992, Soledad was diagnosed with cancer and underwent several operations. Following her recovery, she realized that acting was her true calling. In 1995, her daughter's agent asked her to attend an audition, which she initially declined. However, after being encouraged by the casting agent to pursue a career in showbiz, Soledad researched the industry and became hooked.
Ms. St. Hilaire made her big-screen debut in Miguel Arteta's 1996 film Star Maps (1997) and has since appeared in a string of films, including The End of Violence (1997),Crazy/Beautiful (2001),Real Women Have Curves (2002),and Full Frontal (2002),directed by Steven Soderbergh.
Aside from her acting career, Soledad is a licensed real estate agent, escrow officer, title officer, travel agent, welfare worker, notary public, manager for Denny's Restaurant and IHOP, and holds a certificate for court mediator. She currently resides in Cypress, California, where she is the proprietor of SoleMar Marketing & Promotions and SoleMar Productions, which previously produced the entertainment program "Nosotros Now." In her free time, Soledad enjoys browsing the web, obtaining healthy recipes, and working on her theater web class. She is a handywoman, avid gardener, and all-around performer.
