Sonny John Moore, known professionally as Skrillex, is an American record producer, DJ, singer, songwriter, and musician. Born on January 15, 1988, in Highland Park, Northeast Los Angeles, he grew up in Northern California and later moved to San Francisco at the age of 2.
Moore joined the American post-hardcore band From First to Last as the lead singer in 2004, recording two studio albums with the band before leaving to pursue a solo career in 2007. He began his first tour as a solo artist in late 2007 and released the Gypsyhook EP in 2009.
