Simone-Élise Girard's early life was marked by her upbringing in the charming Montreal suburbs alongside her two sisters, an engineer father, and a mother who was deeply involved in volunteering and had a passion for politics. From a young age, Simone-Élise was drawn to the world of acting, and this desire only intensified as she grew older.
As a child, Simone-Élise discovered her love for dance and was awarded a scholarship to study Classical Dance at Les Grands Ballet Canadiens. Throughout her teenage years, she continued to hone her craft through dance, eventually pursuing her educational studies at the prestigious College Jean-de-Brébeuf in Montreal. Upon receiving her degree in Human Sciences, Simone-Élise enrolled in The Liberal Arts College at Concordia University, also located in Montreal.
With a desire to broaden her horizons, Simone-Élise traveled to France, Italy, England, Holland, and Belgium, before returning to Canada and committing to her true passion, acting. She went on to train with some of the most renowned teachers in Quebec, New York, and Paris.
Since then, Simone-Élise has starred in over 50 productions, taking on major roles in Quebec, Canadian, and American films and TV series. Some of her most notable credits include the Oscar-winning film "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," the popular TV series "E.R," and the film "Shattered Glass."
In recent years, Simone-Élise has taken on two lead roles in two of Quebec's most popular TV shows: Judith Carpentier in the critically acclaimed series "Unité 9" and Frédérique Argentier in the multiple Gemini Award-winning series "O."
In 2016, Simone-Élise will continue to portray her role as Judith Carpentier in "Unité 9" and will star as Béatrice in Denis Côté's ninth film, "Boris sans Béatrice," which is set to compete for the Golden Bear at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival.
