Simon Pengelly, a multifaceted individual, was born Simon Bradley Pengelly on February 11, 1983, in the charming town of Brecon. His academic pursuits took him to Brecon High School, where he earned his GCSEs and showcased his athletic prowess as a member of the school's rugby team. In addition to his academic achievements, Simon also cultivated his martial arts skills, earning a second Dan black belt in Shotokan Karate with Brecon Shotokan Karate Club. His impressive skills on the mat earned him a spot as a Welsh international fighter, garnering several caps for his country.
As he transitioned into his professional life, Simon embarked on an apprenticeship as an electrician, subsequently gaining his NVQ Level 2. However, his sense of adventure soon got the better of him, and he decided to take a hiatus to travel the world. During his travels, he spent considerable time in New Zealand and Australia, where he played rugby to a regional standard. He also explored Europe, broadening his cultural horizons.
Upon his return, Simon laced up his rugby boots once again and joined Neath RFC, playing semi-professionally for three years while simultaneously honing his skills in stone masonry. As he approached a crossroads in his life, Simon decided to trade in his rugby boots for the spotlight, and his long-suppressed desire to become an actor finally took center stage.
Simon's acting career began in 2009 with smaller roles, gradually escalating to more prominent parts. He has appeared in various TV shows, including the BBC's "Casualty," "Merlin," and "Being Human." His foray into short films has been equally successful, with many of his projects receiving critical acclaim and awards. Some of his notable credits include "Alderwood Plain," "Defiant in Death," "Lex Tallionis," "Intruder," "The Hellraiser Chronicles," and the highly anticipated "The Antwerp Dolls" and "Kamakazi."
