Simon John Beckingham, later known as Simon Pegg, was born to Gillian Rosemary (Smith),a civil servant, and John Henry Beckingham, a jazz musician, in Brockworth, Gloucestershire. His parents divorced when he was just seven years old, and he later took his stepfather's surname, "Pegg".
