Biography

Shruti Ganguly is a multifaceted filmmaker and writer who splits her time between New York City and Oslo. Her impressive credentials include serving on E.C.C.O., a prestigious committee of entertainment and media leaders, where she chairs the Asian subcommittee. This esteemed group has collaborated with influential figures from the White House and Senate caucuses.

Shruti's impressive filmography boasts several feature films that have premiered at some of the world's most renowned festivals, including Sundance, Venice, Tribeca, Telluride, and Berlin. Her notable works include Spirit-winner H., and the Nora Ephron Prize-winner INITIALS SG.

Recently, Shruti directed TRIPPED UP, a feature film starring Leah Lewis, Ariel Winter, and Vanessa Williams, which is set to be distributed by Decal (North America) and Universal Pictures (Global). She has also sold DEATHSPA, a psychological horror film about a bachelorette party gone wrong, to Sony International. Currently, she is writing SECRET DAUGHTER for Amazon Studios, a feature drama starring Priyanka Chopra and Sienna Miller, directed by Cannes-winner Anthony Chen.

Shruti's upcoming projects include the coming-of-age feature comedy, PRIYA, AT 12, produced by Nikki Silver and Meena Harris' Phenomenal Media. In the television realm, she is a writing-EP on the half-hour TV series BROWN BABY, based on the memoir by acclaimed British novelist Nikesh Shukla, which will star Himesh Patel and be set up at Apple UK. She is also developing FLOSSY, a half-hour series with comedian and writer Kerry Coddett.

As a producer, Shruti has directed and produced commercials, branded content, short documentaries, and music videos for clients such as Nike, Netflix, Unilever, and Michael Kors through her production company honto88. Recently, she co-founded Prism Entertainment with producers Megha Kadakia and Priya Giri Desai to craft South-Asian focused films and television series.

Prior to her current endeavors, Shruti held executive positions at NYLON, MTV, and Conde Nast, where she produced the CLIO-winning 73 Questions series for Vogue.
