Person Biography:
Shiva Rose was born in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, to parents of Irish and Iranian descent. She spent her early years in Iran until the age of ten, when her family was forced to escape to Paris and eventually settle in Los Angeles.
Shiva began her stage career at the tender age of 15, performing at various theaters in Santa Monica. She later attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and married actor Dylan McDermott. While dedicating her life to raising a daughter, she continued to pursue her passion for acting, appearing on stage, television, and film.
Shiva's breakthrough role came in the critically acclaimed film "David and Layla," which earned her the "Best Breakthrough Actress" award. The film received widespread recognition, including a nod from Nobel laureate Harold Pinter, who described it as "'A bold, politically relevant film against impossible odds."
In addition to her acting career, Shiva is also a writer and has penned the play "Fragile Life," inspired by the life of photographer Tina Modotti. She has also been involved with several charitable organizations, including serving as a spokesperson for Amnesty International's Refugee Program.
Shiva's personal life has seen its share of challenges, including a divorce from Dylan McDermott in 2009. However, she has continued to pursue her passions, writing for various publications, including Vogue, Lucky, and the Huffington Post. She has also launched a lifestyle website, The Local Rose, which focuses on her organic and holistic lifestyle.
