Shishir Kurup is a multifaceted artist, born in Bombay, India, and raised in Mombasa, Kenya, and the United States. He is an actor, writer, director, composer, and narrator. Kurup has performed in numerous one-man shows, including "Assimilation" and "Exile: Ruminations on a Reluctant Martyr", which have been showcased in cities and universities across the United States and internationally.

Kurup's work has been published in various anthologies, including "Let's Get It On: The Politics of Black Performance" and "Bold Words: A Century of Asian American Writing". He has also written essays, including "In-Between-Space", which appears in "Let's Get It On".

As a member of the Cornerstone Theater Company, Kurup has acted in numerous productions, including "Malliere", "Twelfth Night", "Medea Macbeth Cinderella", and "Los Biombos".
