Biography

Shioli Kutsuna, a talented Australian-Japanese actress, embarked on an acting career at the tender age of 14 when she relocated to Japan. Her journey began with a remarkable achievement, winning the 11th Japan Bishojo Contest in 2006, a prestigious award that honors the most beautiful young girl in Japan.

Shioli's early success led to her first acting role in 2007 as a member of the cast of 3 Nen B Gumi Kinpachi Sensei 8, a popular Japanese TV school drama. Two years later, she secured a main character role as Tsugumi Nitobe in 7 Mannin Tantei Nitobe, and made her film debut in Guardian Angel. Her outstanding performance in Back Pages earned her the 85th Kinema Junpo Award for Best Actress in 2010.

Shioli graduated from Horikoshi High School in Tokyo in 2011, but unfortunately, she had to drop out of Asia University in 2013, midway through her third year, due to the immense pressure of her acting career. This decision went against her earlier vow to persevere no matter what.

Throughout her career, Shioli has received numerous accolades, including the 9th Clarino Beautiful Legs Award in the teen category in 2011 and the Newcomer Of The Year award at the 37th Japan Academy Prize in 2014. She has also been recognized for her roles in Petaru Dansu and the Hollywood production of the Deadpool sequel, scheduled for release in 2018.

In her personal life, Shioli was reportedly dating actor Shôta Matsuda in 2013. She has been involved in various corporate advertising campaigns for companies such as Epson, MOS Burger, and Pocky, among others. However, her Pocky endorsement faced backlash due to the immense popularity of her predecessor, Yui Aragaki. Shioli is currently represented by Oscar Promotion.
