Shinobu Kandori, a multifaceted individual, is both a prominent Japanese politician and a professional wrestler, making her a rare breed in the world of politics and entertainment. She currently serves as a member of the esteemed House of Councillors, representing the Liberal Democratic Party, a position she has held since 2006.
Prior to her political career, Kandori made a name for herself as a professional wrestler, but her foray into politics began in 2004 when she ran for a seat in the House of Councillors. Although she did not emerge victorious in her initial bid, her determination and perseverance paid off in 2006 when Heizo Takenaka, a fellow member of the House of Councillors, resigned, allowing Kandori to take his place.
