Sheila Head is a multifaceted creative force, with a diverse range of talents that span the realms of acting, writing, and set design. As a playwright, her notable credits include "The Egg Game" with The Present Company, "Over My Head" at Ensemble Studio Theatre, "Enter Smoking", and "Hollywood Nurses".
Beyond her playwriting endeavors, Sheila has also made significant contributions to television, having worked as a staff writer for the ABC/Disney convergence project. During her tenure, she created a range of content, including shorts, narrative interactive gaming projects, and interstitial programming for the Disney Channel.
In addition to her work in television, Sheila has also created an interactive detective comedy series for Oxygen, titled "The Ruth Truth". This project was inspired by her own experiences as a private investigator in New York's Chinatown.
Sheila's impressive resume also includes a stint as a staff writer for the Emmy-Award winning PBS animated series, "Cyberchase".
As an improviser, Sheila has developed a unique talent, creating the improvised sitcom "Character Witness" for Freestyle Repertory Theater. The live sitcom ran for two years, yielding over 50 original characters and a subsequent cable TV spin-off, "The Uncle Charlie Show".
Throughout her career, Sheila has appeared at numerous esteemed venues, including The HBO Workspace, PS NBC, Luna Lounge, Stella, Solo Arts, Moonwork, HERE, the West Bank Café, Ars Nova, and various comedy festivals across the United States and Canada. She has also written for ABC/Disney, Garrison Keillor, and contributed to "The Next Big Thing" on WNYC/NPR.
In addition to her extensive list of credits, Sheila is also a talented character actress, regularly appearing in New York and Los Angeles as Sandra O'Day, an ex-con/motivational speaker with anger management issues.
