Biography

Shebly Niavarani, a multifaceted screen and stage actor, was born in the vibrant city of Teheran, Iran, where his life took a dramatic turn amidst the Iran-Iraq war. He and his family made the courageous decision to relocate to Sweden, where he would spend his formative years growing up in various cities, cultivating a profound passion for the world of cinema and theatre.

As he entered his early twenties, Niavarani's dedication to his craft was rewarded when he was accepted into the prestigious Academy of Dramatical Arts in Stockholm. Over the course of four years, he honed his acting skills under the guidance of esteemed instructors, laying the foundation for a successful career in the performing arts.

Upon graduation, Niavarani's talent and hard work quickly earned him a spot at the esteemed Stockholm City Theatre, where he has had the privilege of starring in over thirty productions, including The Jungle Book, Invasion, War and Peace, Hamlet, and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. His impressive resume also includes notable performances at the Folkteatern in Gothenburg, where the renowned Swedish director and writer Lars Norén held the reins, as well as the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm.

In addition to his extensive work in the theatre, Niavarani has also made a significant impact in the Swedish film and television industry, starring in numerous productions, including the highly acclaimed series Gåsmamman, which he appeared in for six seasons.

Niavarani's family is replete with artistic talent, with his sister, Shima Niavarani, also an accomplished actress, and his cousin, Michael Niavarani, a prominent Austrian actor and comedian.
