Biography

Shane is a Welsh actor with a diverse and prolific career, currently playing the role of Chief Hopper in Stranger Things: The First Shadow.

Alongside his work in the film and television industry, Shane has appeared in numerous West End theatre productions and voiced hundreds of voice-over projects.

He has worked alongside renowned directors, including Trevor Nunn, Ridley Scott, Clio Barnard, and Rupert Goold, and has been involved in a wide range of productions, from Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman at the Lyric on Shaftesbury Avenue to Porgy and Bess at the Royal Opera House.

Shane's portrayal of Butch Honeywell in the Olivier-winning play Piaf, directed by Jamie Lloyd and starring at the Almeida, brought him critical acclaim.

His first lead role in Andrew Kotting's visionary film This Filthy Earth challenged the traditional filmmaking format and laid the foundations for his love of experimental film.

In recent years, Shane has taken on a variety of roles, including a foray into the superhero world in Wonder Woman 1984, a portrayal of agricultural poverty in Clio Barnard's Dark River, and a role as George Cornell in the film Legend, exploring the violent underworld of Ronnie and Reggie Kray.

Throughout his career, Shane has consistently emphasized character development, and has been involved in a range of productions, including the fantastical worlds of The Witcher, Carnival Row, The Bastard Executioner, The Alienist, and numerous British television shows, including his recent role as the thuggish Rocky in Finders Keepers for Channel 5.
