Shanda Lee was born and raised in a small Eastern Iowa town, Dubuque, which is also affectionately referred to as the "Masterpiece on the Mississippi." Throughout her life, she has relocated an astonishing thirty-six times in the span of two decades.
As the eldest of four children, Shanda was undoubtedly the most dramatic of the bunch. Her love of performing began at a remarkably young age when she was cast as "Ballerina 1" in a school play in the second grade. This marked the start of a long line of theater productions, with her parents being subjected to numerous musical performances alongside her siblings. Her family members did Madonna proud with their enthusiastic support.
Despite her aspirations to move to Los Angeles for a career in acting following high school graduation, her mother wisely suggested pursuing a "real" degree first. Shanda went on to graduate with three degrees: Marketing, Public Relations, and Spanish. She then worked in Marketing for John Deere for several years, during which time she honed her acting skills by pretending to enjoy fixing transmissions. This accomplishment still holds great significance for her today. Additionally, she developed the ability to operate heavy machinery with ease.
While working in the South, Shanda embarked on her professional acting career. She attended a cattle call for the film Remember the Titans (2000) but was unfortunately not selected as an extra. Undeterred, she crashed the chosen line the following day and began working. Within a few hours, she was upgraded to a day player and became Kate Bosworth's "best friend," earning her SAG card in the process.
Shanda has since worked as an Actress, Director, Producer, and Writer, and she thoroughly enjoys all aspects of the industry. She is the co-founder of Play Nice Productions, where she develops television and film projects alongside her business partner, Chevy Burnett. In addition to her work in the entertainment industry, Shanda owns several businesses, including Gold Standard Athletics, Beautiful Chaos Design + Events, the Scene studio, and ACP Talent Enterprises. She is also a published author and talent manager.
At the heart of Shanda's life are her family, friends, and work. She is blessed with two incredible children and is open to collaboration, inviting anyone interested to reach out.
