Shana Swash, born in 1990 in Islington, London, was the youngest child in her family. As a child, she initially had a passion for dancing, and was enrolled in dance classes from an early age. By the time she was 12 years old in 2002, she had already started her modeling career, shortly after beginning secondary school.
This decision was likely influenced by her older brother Joe Swash, who had landed the role of Mickey Miller in the popular BBC soap opera 'EastEnders' in 2003, when Shana was just 13 years old. As a result, Shana decided to pursue an acting career, abandoning her dreams of becoming a professional dancer after 10 years. However, she continued to work as a model alongside her acting endeavors.
When auditions opened for a teenage role in 'EastEnders', Shana landed the part of Demi Miller, the younger sister of Mickey Miller, played by her brother Joe. Demi made her debut on the show on September 6, 2004, at the age of 14. Since then, Shana has taken on challenging roles, including that of a teenage mother and a character who experiences the devastating loss of her boyfriend Leo to a drug overdose.
As a main cast member of 'EastEnders', Shana continues to portray Demi, often engaging in dramatic storylines with her on-screen brother Joe, and has publicly expressed her admiration for Jessie Wallace, who plays the character Kat Moon in the show.
