Shana Elizabeth Dowdeswell, a remarkable individual, left an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew her, until her untimely passing on December 12, 2012. Born on April 1, 1989, in Harare, Zimbabwe, she embarked on a journey that would take her to the United States, where she would later make New York City her home.
Shana's early years were marked by a thirst for knowledge and a passion for the performing arts. She attended City and Country School, PS 3, and eventually PPAS High School, where she honed her craft and laid the foundation for a successful career as an actress.
As she grew older, Shana's talent and dedication earned her numerous credits in film, television, and theater. Her most notable roles included playing Anne Frank at the prestigious Papermill Playhouse, a testament to her exceptional acting abilities.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Shana's greatest legacy was the countless friends and family members she touched throughout her life. Her warmth, generosity, and hopefulness inspired those around her, and her love for travel took her to various parts of the world, including Africa, Paris, London, and Canada, where she had a special connection with her boyfriend, Cameron Moneo.
Shana is survived by her loving parents, Laurie and Roger, her brother Jesse, her grandparents Willard and Jane Smith, and her godmother Karen Wimmer.
