Person Biography:
Armaghan Shahid, better known as Shaan, is a Pakistani actor, writer, and director. Born in Lahore to a renowned director, Riaz Shahid, and a television, theater, and film actress, Neelo, Shaan's early education was at the prestigious Aitchison College. He later moved to New York, United States, where he attended Newtown High School.
Shaan began his acting career at a young age, winning the best actor's award in a play called Alif Noon. He made his film debut in Javed Fazil's Bulandi (1990) alongside Reema Khan, which became a commercial success. He then went on to act in numerous films, including Nagina, Ghoonghat, Sangam, and Mujhe Chand Chahiye, among many others.
Shaan has established himself as one of the critically acclaimed leading actors of Pakistan, with over 200 films under his belt. He has also ventured into direction, with his debut film Guns and Roses - Ik Junoon (1999),followed by Moosa Khan (2001),and currently working on Chup alongside Juggan Kazim.
As a writer, Shaan has written short stories and scripts for several films, including Reema Khan's Love Mein Gum, which he opted out of due to scripting issues. He is also working on several upcoming projects, including Masakali, which he will be directing, producing, and writing himself.
In addition to his acting and directing career, Shaan has also hosted a morning show on Geo News, titled Geo Shaan Say, which premiered on April 23, 2012. He has also endorsed several brands, including Unilever Pakistan, Pepsi, Mobilink, and One Pack = One Vaccine, a campaign launched by UNICEF, Procter & Gamble, and the Ministry of Health to eradicate tetanus from Pakistan.
