Severin Eskeland, a talented filmmaker from the west coast of Norway, began his cinematic journey at the tender age of 13 by creating home movies. His fascination with the horror genre was evident from the onset.
After completing film school in Oslo, Eskeland went on to write and direct his debut feature, "Snarveien" (also known as "Detour"),which premiered in 2009. His sophomore effort, "Lyst" (Lust),was released in 2017 and gained international recognition in 2022. This film showcased Eskeland's versatility as a writer, director, producer, and editor.
Eskeland's early work, the 2006 exam-film "The Chamber", caught the attention of the Screamfest in Los Angeles, where it was screened the same year. He returned to the festival on two subsequent occasions, in 2009 with "Snarveien" and in 2021 with his short film "Number 7".
The filmmaker's latest short films, "Allodium" (2019) and "Number 7" (2021),have been showcased at numerous international festivals, earning multiple awards. "Allodium" has also been included in Bloody Disgusting's "Bloody Bites" season 8.
Eskeland's upcoming feature, "Fatum", is scheduled to premiere in October 2025, leaving fans eagerly anticipating his next cinematic endeavor.
