Settar Tanriögen is a multifaceted individual, whose professional journey began in his primary school years, where he took on various jobs, including shoe shining, tea making, and waitressing. His interest in theater started in 1980, when he participated in a play prepared for the centennial of Atatürk's birth at a public education center in Denizli.
In 1984, he won a scholarship to study at the Department of Archeology and Art History at Hacettepe University, which led him to move to Ankara. During his university years, he resumed his passion for theater, performing in an art house in Ankara. Despite graduating from the department, Tanriögen did not pursue a career related to his field of study, instead opting to focus on his acting career.
After university, Tanriögen joined a touring theater group that traveled across Turkey for about 15 years. His big break came in 1996, when he landed the role of Kiz Naci in the film Eskiya, starring Sener Sen and Ugur Yücel, directed by Yavuz Turgul. The following year, he played the role of Saldiray in Bir Demet Tiyatro, which proved to be a significant milestone in his career.
In 1998, Tanriögen appeared in the movie Yara, and subsequently began performing one-man shows in 1999, working alongside Vedat Özdemiroglu. Although these shows were well-received, they unfortunately came to an end due to the challenging conditions of the period and the approaching elections.
Throughout his career, Tanriögen has appeared in numerous films and television series, earning him many awards for his outstanding performances. In recent years, he has gained recognition for his role in the Netflix movie Asiklar Bayrami, which has helped to revive his name in the industry.
