Sergio Caballero is a multifaceted creative force, serving as the co-director and art director of the renowned Sónar festival in Barcelona. This innovative and restless artist has explored various creative fields, including electronic music, cinema, visual arts, and conceptual art, through his work with the Sónar advertising campaigns.

As a co-founder, co-director, and image consultant of Sónar, Caballero has been instrumental in shaping the festival's identity alongside Enric Palau and Ricard Robles. The festival has been a driving force in the global music and art scene for over two decades, celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2018 with the exhibition "Ni Flyers, ni posters: 25 años de imagen Sónar".

Caballero's artistic journey began in the 1980s with the founding of the group "Los Rinos", which focused on graffiti, painting actions, video performance, concerts, and wall installations. His work with "Los Rinos" showcased his ability to push boundaries and challenge conventions.

In the 1990s, Caballero co-founded the group "Jumo" with Enric Palau, solidifying his connection to the Barcelona electronic music scene. He has collaborated with various artists, including Victor Nubla, La Fura dels Baus, Zusho Peanut Pie, and others.

Caballero has also worked with composer Pedro Alcalde, creating musical pieces for the 'Compañía Nacional de Danza' directed by Nacho Duato. He is currently preparing his second piece for orchestra, set to be released in 2013.

In the realm of visual arts, Caballero has showcased his work in individual exhibitions, such as "Sergio Caballero Famoso en el Mundo Entero" and "El Clamor de la Humanidad me Oprime por su Tumulto me Veo Privado del Sueño". His most recent exhibition, "Abstracción en el establo", was a re-take on academic, abstract expressionism in painting, featuring a Dutch purebred horse as co-author.

Caballero's film career has been marked by his personal and unique style, as seen in his feature films "Finisterrae" and "La Distancia". The former earned the "Tiger Award" at the International Film Festival Rotterdam and was selected in over 60 festivals worldwide. His second feature film, "La Distancia", premiered at the IFFR in 2014, alongside his short film "Ancha es Castilla/ N'importe quoi", which was part of the Sónar festival image that year. In 2019, his short film "Je te tiens", starring Angela Molina, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival as part of the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs.
