Son of the renowned world journalist George Negus and the accomplished photographer and artist Kristy Cockburn, Serge Negus is no stranger to the camera, having been exposed to the world of journalism and art from a young age. His father, George Negus, is famous for his work on 60 Minutes and Foreign Correspondent, while his mother, Kristy Cockburn, has made a name for herself as a photographer and artist. Serge has an older brother, Ned, who shares his family's creative background.
When a local production company, Bangalow Productions, announced that they were looking for a boy to play the role of Mick Dundee's son in the film Crocodile Dundee in L.A., Serge's parents decided to create a home video showcasing their son's talents. The video featured Serge talking to his grandfather about his pet blue-tongued lizard, Huffy. Casting director Maura Fay was impressed by Serge's performance, and director Simon Wincer praised his talent, ultimately casting him in the role.
In his free time, Serge enjoys playing soccer and has a passion for reptiles. He owns a variety of pets, including five snakes, one gecko, one pink-tongued skink, one blue-tongued lizard, and a dog, showcasing his love for animals and the outdoors.
