Ser Anzoategui is a talented American actor, stand-up comic, and writer who has gained recognition for their impressive performances in various projects. As a twice Imagen Award Foundation nominated actor, Ser made a breakthrough with their role as Eddy Martinez in the STARZ series Vida. Their outstanding work in the indie noir thriller The Low End Theory earned them the Best Ensemble award at the NVISION Latino Film & Music Festival in 2025.
Apart from their acting career, Ser is also a stand-up comic and writer. Their comedy pilot, Settling, has gained popularity on Coverfly, and they have performed at renowned comedy clubs such as The Comedy Store, Flappers, The Ice House in Pasadena, The Ha Ha, and Tao Comedy Studio.
As a writer, Ser has contributed to the Malcs academic journal and has been a finalist in the Downtown Urban Theatre Festival in NYC. Their critically acclaimed solo show, ¡Ser!, won two L.A. Weekly awards and had a world premiere at the Los Angeles Theatre Center, featuring original music by Louie Perez of the legendary Chicano band Los Lobos.
Ser has also been an advocate for a non-binary award category, writing an op-ed for the LA Times and a guest column for Deadline. They have been an active member of the Eastside community since 2004, collaborating with various organizations, including the East La Housing Corporation, Teada, National Performance Network, and the L.A. LGBTQ Center's Mi Centro.
In their personal life, Ser enjoys singing in the car, karaoke, mutual aid for trans/non-binary Bipoc, meditation, creating mindful recipes for cooking, bird watching, swimming, and playing in the ocean. Despite being an up-and-coming talent in the industry, Ser is making a significant impact by empowering and advocating for local communities and educating the larger society through their work in entertainment.
