Biography

Sen Monro was born in Belsize Park, Hampstead, London, to Cemal and Feriha Monro, who had migrated to England from Cyprus, a British Colony, in 1952 with only £3 in their pockets. Despite their humble beginnings, Sen's parents worked tirelessly to establish a better life for themselves and their family, eventually relocating from Islington to Finchley. Both Sen's parents possessed exceptional talent, with his father having the potential to be an actor and his mother possessing a beautiful singing voice. Sen's parents' hard work and can-do mindset had a profound impact on his life, instilling in him the importance of perseverance and dedication.

As a child, Sen demonstrated a natural aptitude for acting and writing stories, which was recognized by his English teachers, particularly Mr. Jobson. This recognition encouraged Sen to pursue his passion for acting and writing, and he subsequently embarked on a journey to hone his skills. In addition to his creative pursuits, Sen was a talented sportsman, representing his school and county in football, cricket, and athletics. He even had trials with several prominent football clubs, including Chelsea, Reading, and Orient, and eventually signed with Southend United before playing for Harpenden Town FC. Sen is also an avid golfer and enjoys participating in general knowledge quizzes, having even won an episode of the popular TV show "Blind Date" hosted by Cilla Black.

Sen is fluent in French and Turkish, skills that he showcased in his performances as Dinu Bucalet Senior in "The Cage" and Emre in "Skewered". His linguistic abilities, combined with his acting talent, have enabled him to make a name for himself in the world of film and television. Sen has also established himself as a skilled scriptwriter, having written and produced critically acclaimed films such as STAGES. He has also written scripts for TWO WRONGS, SWEET DREAMS, DIPAK CALHOUN, and other projects, many of which are set to be produced with well-known film producers Tony Klinger and Steven Bernstein.

Sen is the founder of Gripping Yarn Films, a production company based in the UK. He is also related to well-known actor Tamer Hassan and attended the same secondary school as John Bercow.
