Sean's Early Life and Career
As a young man, Sean was raised in the circus as an acrobat, belonging to The Seven Alexander's teeterboard act, which was founded by his parents. This unique childhood experience allowed him to develop a storybook upbringing, which later influenced his career as a storyteller.
After retiring from the circus, Sean pursued a career in acting, working in film and television in Los Angeles for many years. His experience as an actor enabled him to develop a deep understanding of the craft, which he brought to his work as a director.
Sean's Inspiration and Early Directing Career
Sean's journey into directing began after being inspired by James Cameron while working as a VFX coordinator on the film "Titanic". This experience led him to direct his first feature film, "A Crack in the Floor", which he co-wrote and co-directed, starring Gary Busey and Mario Lopez.
His second film, "Played", was written, directed, and operated as the Director of Photography by Sean, and was released by Lions Gate Films. The film featured an all-star cast, including Val Kilmer, Gabriel Byrne, Vinnie Jones, and Bruno Kirby. Sean won the Best Screenplay award at the Malibu Film Festival in 2007 for his work on "Played".
Motion Capture and Video Game Directing
Sean's experience in motion capture production led him to serve as a motion capture producer for Sony Imageworks on the films "Monster House" and "Beowulf". He was inspired by the growing technology and went on to direct motion capture performance cinematics and voice overs for several triple-A title video games, including Splinter Cell: Conviction, Infamous 2, and Unit 13.
Sean also technical directed the Uncharted series for PS3, as well as Killzone 3 and Socom's Navy Seals games. He continues to direct in this medium, always seeking new opportunities to tell stories without limiting himself to one medium.
