Sean's writing career began in the early 1990s, largely influenced by his friend and mentor, the renowned special effects director Derek Meddings, who had worked on iconic projects such as Thunderbirds, Joe 90, Captain Scarlet, Superman, and James Bond.
Under Derek's guidance, Sean developed his skills as an in-camera practical effects expert, a highly specialized position that requires a deep understanding of film and television production. This expertise would serve him well in his future endeavors.
During the 1990s, Sean was approached by a local producer to write a script for a comedy television series, which earned him the Northern Screenwriters Award. He later worked as a writer for Zenith Television before returning to his roots as an in-camera practical effects technician.
In 2008, Sean wrote, produced, and directed the film Agent Crush, which boasted an impressive ensemble cast featuring Neve Campbell, Roger Moore, Brian Blessed, Brian Cox, Ioan Gruffud, Danny Glover, Ruby Wax, and Rula Lenska.
As the director of Agent Crush, Sean was responsible for developing innovative techniques to push in-camera model effects to new heights. He also directed all of the in-camera practical effects for the film, showcasing his exceptional skills in this area.
During the filming of Agent Crush, Sean formed a lasting friendship with the legendary Sir Roger Moore, who later mentioned him in his autobiography "My Word is My Bond." To this day, Sean maintains close relationships with numerous film industry professionals around the world.
Currently, Sean serves as the leader of Dignus Films alongside his business partner, overseeing the development of their latest project, Midas, a high-octane UK thriller. The project boasts an impressive directorial team, featuring Oscar winners Brian Johnson and Peter Lamont, as well as a talented crew.
Since 2008, Sean has consistently completed one screenplay per year, contributing to Dignus Films' diverse slate of projects across multiple genres.
