Biography

Sean Cain, a multifaceted American filmmaker, hails from the San Francisco Bay Area, where his introduction to the world of filmmaking was courtesy of his father. As a child, Sean's family would reenact scenes from the classic TV series "Mike Hammer" and watch the recreated scenes together after dinner, thus igniting his creative spark.

Today, Sean resides in Los Angeles, where he co-founded Velvet Hammer Films with his long-time friend and business partner, Jim Wright. Following the release of his debut film, Naked Beneath the Water, in early 2008, Sean went on to direct six more films, including Silent Night, Zombie Night, The Last House, Jurassic City, Terror Birds, and Eruption: LA. His latest project, Dead by Dawn, marks a return to his horror roots.

Beyond his work as a director, Sean has established himself as a prolific editor, having worked on over 70 feature films that can be streamed globally on various platforms, including Netflix, Paramount +, SyFy, Hallmark, Lifetime, and many others.

In addition to his directing and editing credits, Sean has also served as producer on two projects, Someone's Knocking at the Door and Warning!!! Pedophile Released, earning him the nickname "Indie Horror Specialist" from Fangoria.
