Biography

Scott Valentine's life took a dramatic turn from an early age, as he discovered his passion for acting at the tender age of five, performing in plays in his parents' garage in Saratoga Springs, New York.

As he grew older, Scott's interest in acting continued to evolve, and he went on to appear in a few high school plays. However, it wasn't until his second semester of college that he decided to pursue acting as a career.

Undeterred by the challenges that lay ahead, Scott packed his bags and moved to New York City, where he enrolled in the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts. His dedication and hard work paid off, as he completed the school's three-year program in a remarkable year and a half.

During his time in New York, Scott held a series of odd jobs to make ends meet, including working as a short order cook and researcher for a publishing firm. He also managed to snag a few roles off-off Broadway, which helped to hone his craft and build his confidence.

Scott's big break came when he signed a contract for a daytime soap, and he was soon set to screen test for a role in the feature film "Lords of Discipline." However, his life took a dramatic turn on September 17, 1981, when he was accidentally hit by a truck, leaving him with a long and arduous road to recovery.

After three years of convalescing, Scott made the difficult decision to leave New York and start anew in Los Angeles. It was there that he landed the iconic role of Nick Moore on the hit television series Family Ties, which would go on to become a defining moment in his career.
