Born in the vibrant city of Wichita, Kansas, a place that would later inspire his literary pursuits, he went on to pursue a major in French Literature at Wichita State University, where he had the esteemed opportunity to study Creative Writing under the guidance of renowned novelist James Lee Burke.
Following his academic endeavors, he embarked on a series of professional endeavors, working in bookstores and selling photographic equipment, before transitioning into a career as a photographer and translator. This multifaceted experience would later influence his writing style and subject matter.
In 1988, he made the bold decision to relocate to France, a move that would undoubtedly broaden his cultural horizons and spark new creative ideas. This international experience would also lay the groundwork for his later literary endeavors.
Years later, in 1992, he made the move to Los Angeles, a city that would provide a fresh backdrop for his writing and artistic pursuits. And, in 2003, he relocated once more, this time to St. Louis, Missouri, a city that would become his new home.
Fast forward to 2011, he is currently adapting his novel "Nocturne" (les Éditions la Branche, 2011) for French television, a project that he is collaborating on with Jedidiah Ayres. This adaptation is a testament to his continued creative output and his ability to adapt his work to new mediums.
