Scott Holden's early life was marked by a series of moves, beginning with his childhood in Middle Village, Queens, New York. At the age of nine, his family relocated to Orlando, Florida, due to his father's work. However, this stint in the Sunshine State was brief, and the family soon moved to north New Jersey.
Throughout his career in Information Technology, Holden rose through the ranks, becoming a Field Technician, Computer Operations Manager, and Technical Project Manager. Yet, in 2009, he found himself laid off, and unable to find new employment, he and his family were forced to return to live with relatives.
Holden credits the book "Tough Sh*t: Life Advice from a Fat, Lazy Slob Who Did Good" by Kevin Smith with giving him the courage to start a podcast and share his thoughts with the world.
In 2010, Holden co-founded the podcast Bone Crushing Juggernaut with his lifelong friend Joe Greshko. The following year, he launched ThatMan on Fatman, a podcast dedicated to exploring the world of Kevin Smith.
ThatMan on Fatman has gained a significant following, with Holden co-hosting the show alongside his wife and producer, Jeanne Holden. Each week, the couple discusses the latest news and events in the Kevin Smith universe, as well as interviews guests from the View Askew films, including Scott Schiaffo, Marilyn Ghigliotti, Ernie O'Donnell, Brian O'Halloran, Bob Hawk, Michael Rooker, and even Kevin Smith himself.
ThatMan on Fatman's success has led to a number of opportunities, including being selected as the first podcast to be featured on the SModcast Network's show "PodU." In 2014, Holden was also involved in the film project Shooting Clerks and moderated the Clerks Panel Discussion at the Mr. Hush Weekend of Fear Convention in Pennsylvania.
In 2015, ThatMan on Fatman was invited to participate in the NYCpodfest, an annual festival held in New York City where podcasters perform their shows live. Additionally, Holden and his wife formed "ThatMan Productions LLC" in June of that year.
Throughout his journey, Holden has been open about the challenges he faced, including being laid off and struggling to find new employment. However, through his podcast and other creative endeavors, he has been able to find success and build a community of like-minded individuals who share his passion for Kevin Smith's work.
