Robert Scott Crane is an American actor, record producer, and radio host. Born in Santa Monica, California, to actors Bob Crane and Sigrid Valdis, he studied acting at The Stella Adler Conservatory, The Ron Burrus Studio, and with The Groundlings.
Crane has appeared in numerous indie festival films, including "TimeTravelers Anonymous", "Alone at Midnight", "Greg", "Wireless", "AKMB", "Hell Hole High", "CowGrrrls", and "Brooklyn Heights". He has also been a guest on several top-rated radio shows, such as The Howard Stern Show, Kevin and Bean, Loveline, and The Tom Leykis Show.
Crane has been featured in various national publications, including Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, The Seattle Post Intelligencer, Radio & Records, Radio Ink, LA Radio People, Billboard, Rolling Stone, Pro Sound News, Mix Magazine, The New York Post, People Magazine, and many others.
He has made appearances on TV programs like Entertainment Tonight, 20/20, Today, CNN Headline News, Access Hollywood, Inside Edition, Extra, and Evening. Crane is also the creator and host of the multiple-award-winning comedy radio theater show, "Shaken, Not Stirred", and one-half of the daily talk radio show, "The Johnny and Scotty Show".
Crane's career as a music and record producer includes two Grammy-nominated projects: the Juno soundtrack and the first comedy album by David Cross. He has also produced albums for Dave Matthews, Tom Jones, David Byrne, and Brandi Carlile, among others.
Crane built the first recording studio in Seattle to be built from the ground up, "Soundhouse Recording Studios", which is managed by legendary producer Jack Endino. He is divorced and has one son from his marriage to Michelle Crane. In 2008, Crane left the music business to focus on his acting career and now lives in Los Angeles, California, with his son.
Crane is the son of the late Bob Crane, known as the "King of the Los Angeles Airwaves" on KNX - CBS radio in the early 1960s, and Patricia Crane, actress and co-star "Hilda" on Hogan's Heroes.
