Scott Barnes, a covert operative for the US Government, has had a storied career spanning over four decades. Beginning in the 1970s, he was recruited by agents of a CIA offshoot group while serving in Vietnam. Barnes worked extensively with the ATF, targeting radical bombing suspects from the SDS and Weathermen groups responsible for numerous university bombings and anti-government attacks.
As a deep cover operative, Barnes assumed various identities, including that of a "corrupt cop," which allowed him to infiltrate even corrupt law enforcement agencies. He was trained by the US DOD, US Army, US DEA, US DOJ, US Treasury FLETC, HDSOC, and numerous other organizations.
Barnes was a senior member of the infamous BET Unit, Biker Enforcement Team, which was part of the LAPD's Covert PDID unit and the OCCIB, LEIU, CNIN, and other secret units operating globally. He has worked in over 34 foreign nations, conducting specialized cases, some of which remain classified to this day.
Throughout his career, Barnes has testified before numerous Federal Grand Juries, US Congressional committees, US Senate committees, and the US "Vault," where his testimony remains top-secret. He has authored a book, "BOHICA," and is featured in several best-selling investigative books and reports.
Barnes has appeared on CBS 60 Minutes and has been the subject of over a dozen investigative stories. Prior to his retirement on March 13, 2015, his last known assignment was to expose hundreds of corrupt law enforcement officials in seven states, which he successfully completed on his final day of work.
