Biography

Teong Hin is a renowned producer, writer, and director with a diverse range of accomplishments across film, television, and theatre. One of his most notable achievements is co-writing and directing "Puteri Gunung Ledang", a Malaysian film that received an invitation to the prestigious Venice International Film Festival and was subsequently submitted for Academy Awards.

Throughout his career, Teong Hin has demonstrated his versatility by working on a wide variety of projects, including historical epics, romantic comedies, musicals, sports films, political dramas, and even the first Penang Hokkien feature film, "You Mean The World To Me". In the realm of theatre, he co-wrote the book for "Puteri Gunung Ledang – The Musical" and staged several site-specific productions for the George Town Festival, including "Emily of Emerald Hill", "Silat", and "You Mean The World To Me". Additionally, he directed the musical "Chow Kit Road! Chow Kit Road!" at the Istana Budaya.

Teong Hin has also ventured into television, directing limited series "Tangkal Besi" and web series "Inikah Cinta", as well as producing the film "Tastemakers". Furthermore, he served as the creative director for the 29th SEA Games & 9th ASEAN Para Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies, showcasing his expertise in large-scale event production.
