Sarah Light was born in South Africa and made the significant decision to relocate to Perth, Western Australia. Growing up in a family with a strong theatrical background, where both her parents were accomplished dancers and actors, Sarah was naturally drawn to the performing arts. She went on to receive a classical ballet training at the prestigious West Australian Academy of Performing Arts, a renowned institution that has produced many talented artists.
Upon graduating from the academy, Sarah's impressive skills earned her a position with both The West Australian and Australian Ballet Companies. However, she soon chose to transition from dancing to acting and pursued further training at The Actors Centre Australia in Sydney. In 2010, her hard work and dedication paid off when she was cast in her first lead role in the Sydney feature film 'Who Pays The Hitman'.
Since then, Sarah has had a prolific career in film, television, online streaming, and theatre, with numerous notable projects to her credit. One of her most notable roles was in the 2014 film 'Son of a Gun' alongside Ewan McGregor. She also starred in the crowd-pleasing Netflix feature 'How to Please A Woman' in 2022 and played the lead role of 'Lex' in the Screen Australia funded LGBTQ+ web series 'Love Me Lex' in 2023.
Sarah's most recent roles include starring in the BINGE series 'The Twelve Series 2' alongside Sam Neill in 2024 and is set to appear in several upcoming projects in 2025. These include roles in the STAN Australia series 'Invisible Boys', the ABC Series 'Mystery Road Origin Series 2', and Bruce Beresford's feature film 'The Travellers'.
