Sandeep Reddy Vanga's educational journey began at Platinum Jubilee High School in Warangal, where he spent his formative years before relocating to Hyderabad to complete his secondary education.
After completing his schooling, Vanga pursued his bachelor's degree from the prestigious SDM College of Physiotherapy in Dharwad, Karnataka.
Although Vanga's initial inclination was towards filmmaking, it was during his college years that he discovered his true passion for the craft. Following his passion, he took up an apprenticeship in Visakhapatnam for the film Manasu Mata Vinadu (2005) and later went on to earn a degree from the Academy of Film, Theatre, and Television, also known as AFTT in Sydney, Australia.
Subsequently, Vanga collaborated with Kiran Kumar for the Tollywood film Kedi (2006) as an assistant director and alongside Kranthi Madhav as an associate director for Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju (2015).
Undeterred by the challenges, Vanga continued to hone his skills and began drafting the script for his supposed directorial debut, Sugar Factory. However, he put it on hold to work on Arjun Reddy (2017),which went on to become a massive commercial success, collecting over Rs. 50 crores ($8 million) at the box office.
Vanga's impressive directorial debut caught the attention of the film fraternity, and he appeared in a cameo role as Vedantam Raghavayya in the biographical movie Mahanati (2018).
The Hindi adaptation of Arjun Reddy, Kabir Singh (2019),was announced the same year, starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani. Vanga's exceptional direction earned him widespread acclaim, and the film went on to become a blockbuster hit at the box office.
In 2021, Vanga announced a gangster drama titled Animal (2023),starring renowned actors like Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, and Rashmika Mandanna. He also announced another film, starring Prabhas.
Throughout his illustrious career, Vanga has received numerous accolades, including the title of Best Debut Director (Telugu) at the 7th South Indian International Movie Awards in 2018 and the Best Debut Director award at the 49th Cinegoers Awards.
In his personal life, Vanga is married to Manisha, whom he tied the knot with in 2014, and they have two children, a son named Arjun Reddy and a daughter.
