Sameera's impressive range as an actress and trained Indian classical dancer made her an ideal fit for Bollywood films. She began her journey in the entertainment industry with a music video that garnered attention and subsequently kick-started her movie career, becoming one of the top actresses in India within a span of just four years. Her impressive acting skills have been showcased in over fifteen films, demonstrating her ability to convincingly portray multiple characters.

Her versatility as an actress has been highlighted in films like Musafir (2004),a controversial blockbuster where she played a rape victim seeking revenge, and Kalpurush (2005),an art house film featuring a double role as a middle-class housewife and a prostitute. The latter earned her the prestigious National Award, India's highest honor, and received critical acclaim on the festival circuit.

Sameera's talent has been recognized globally, with two independent films showcased at the Toronto Film Festival in 2007. Migration (2008),a short film directed by the renowned Mira Nair, featured her as a housewife affected by a disease, while The Voyeurs was her second collaboration with Buddhadev Dasgupta.

As a cultural icon, Sameera has become a household name in India, symbolizing fashion, sex, and beauty.
