Samantha Lang is a multifaceted filmmaker who wears many hats, including director, writer, and producer. Her impressive body of work has been showcased at numerous prestigious international film festivals, including the Sundance Film Festival, the Toronto International Film Festival, and the Locarno Film Festival, to name a few. Her films have garnered widespread recognition and acclaim, with one of her projects, "The Well", even competing at the esteemed Cannes Film Festival for the coveted Palme D'Or award. Notably, she is one of only 82 women directors since 1946 to have achieved this impressive feat.
Currently, Samantha is working on several exciting projects, including feature film adaptations of the romantic comedy "Kill The Messenger", written by the talented playwright Nakkiah Lui, and "Laurinda" (also known as "Lucy and Linh" in the US),a screenplay penned by Asian Australian writer Michelle Law. Additionally, she is developing a TV drama series titled "Night Games" in collaboration with Aquarius Films and Lion.
In 2017, Samantha made her debut as a VR filmmaker with the release of "Prehistoric VR", which premiered at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI). She is also currently in development with her next VR anthology project, "Anthropocene Project".
