Sam Lorn is a renowned independent filmmaker with a storied career spanning multiple decades in the film industry. As a multifaceted talent, he has excelled in various roles, including actor, screenwriter, producer, and director, making him a pioneer in Khmer-American cinema.
Born and raised in Cambodia, Lorn's early life was marked by hardship and resilience, as he survived the devastating killing fields and emigrated to America in 1978. He settled in Long Beach, California, with his surviving relatives, and later moved to New York City in 1991 to pursue a career in filmmaking.
In New York, Lorn honed his craft by studying acting at HB Studios and attending the prestigious New York Film Academy. He also gained valuable industry experience by working at various production companies, including Assembly Films, Screen Gems, The American Museum of Natural History, Shelter Films, and several independent production companies.
As a director, writer, producer, and actor, Lorn's impressive feature film credits include Little Patriot, Moving Target, Young Survivor, Manhattan Midnight, The LBC, and Lovesick. The latter, a modern-day Romeo and Juliet-type-story with a Khmer-American twist, was realized with the assistance of Angelina Jolie and tells the poignant tale of a young Khmer-American woman torn between honoring her family and following her heart.
Lorn's most recent project, Bloodline, is set to be released on InDemand pay-per-view in August 2018.
