Sal Fish, born on May 2, 1939, in Los Angeles, California, is the CEO and President of SCORE International, the leading sanctioning body in the sport of desert racing. With a strong background in industrial relations, having earned a degree from the University of San Francisco, Fish has been instrumental in shaping the sport.

Fish's entrepreneurial journey in desert racing began in 1973, when he was recruited by the late Mickey Thompson, founder of SCORE International. At the time, Fish was an avid off-road enthusiast, having first raced in Mexico in 1970. Under Fish's leadership, SCORE International has undergone significant transformations, with him introducing innovative class rules, implementing safety procedures, and turning the Baja 1000 into one of the most renowned motorsports events in the world.

In 1985, Fish played a crucial role in uniting the sport by forming a combined series with Walt Lott and the High Desert Racing Association (HDRA). His vision and leadership continued to shape the sport, as he partnered with CFO Ted Johnson to purchase SCORE International from Thompson in 1986 and HDRA in 1993. Throughout his illustrious career, Fish has been instrumental in elevating the sport of desert racing, leaving a lasting legacy that continues to inspire and thrill fans worldwide.
