Biography

Safia Nolin, a talented musician born in 1992 in Quebec City, demonstrated a remarkable affinity for music from a very young age. As a toddler, she would improvise unplugged concerts with her small plastic guitar around her building's pool, delighting her neighbours with her endearing performances. This innate talent continued to blossom as she grew older, with Safia setting her sights on becoming a professional musician at the tender age of 17. To pursue her dream, she began teaching herself how to play the guitar, using a used instrument generously offered by her big brother. The result of her dedication was the creation of her first original song, "Igloo," which was inspired by her childhood neighbourhood, Limoilou. This remarkable achievement earned Safia the SOCAN Best Song Award during her participation in the 44th edition of the Festival International de la Chanson de Granby. Building upon this success, Safia released her debut album, "Limoilou," on February 19th, 2015. This 13-track folk-inspired masterpiece captivated both fans and critics, solidifying Safia's reputation as a talented young musician with a bright future ahead.
