Sachio Kinugasa, a renowned Japanese professional baseball player, was born on January 18, 1947, and tragically passed away on April 23, 2018. Throughout his illustrious career, Kinugasa played as a third baseman for the Hiroshima Toyo Carp in the Nippon Professional Baseball league, a tenure that spanned from 1965 to 1987.
During his time on the field, Kinugasa earned the nickname Tetsujin, which translates to "Iron Man," a testament to his exceptional skill and endurance. A remarkable achievement of his was playing in a record-breaking 2,215 consecutive games, a feat that surpassed the previous record held by Lou Gehrig by 1987.
