Sabrina D. Harman, a former American soldier, was born on January 5, 1978. She is infamous for being court-martialed by the United States Army in relation to the 2003-2004 Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse scandal.
As a member of the 372nd Military Police Company, which was part of her Army Reserve unit, Sabrina was accused of permitting and inflicting physical and psychological abuse on Iraqi detainees held at the notorious Abu Ghraib prison in Baghdad, Iraq. This prison was a major facility during the United States' occupation of Iraq.
Following an investigation, Sabrina was found guilty of maltreating detainees, conspiring to maltreat detainees, and dereliction of duty. Her punishment included a six-month prison sentence, the forfeiture of all her pay and benefits, a demotion, and a bad conduct discharge.
Sabrina served her prison sentence at the Naval Consolidated Brig, Miramar in San Diego, California.
