Biography

Ryan Carnes, a talented actor, has accumulated a diverse range of credits throughout his career, including notable roles in the hit ABC series "Desperate Housewives" and Clint Eastwood's critically acclaimed film "Letters from Iwo Jima". His most recent endeavor was starring in the Hulu holiday film "Cupid for Christmas", now streaming on the platform.

Born and raised on a farm outside a small rural town in Illinois, Carnes spent his childhood exploring the acres of woods surrounding his family's property, often venturing solo as an only child. He dedicated his formative years to academics, excelling in subjects such as basketball, baseball, and drumming. Beyond his passion for film and television, Carnes has been honing his skills as a songwriter, aiming to release a full-length record with his music partner Vanessa Silberman in 2022.

Carnes' journey into acting began at Duke University, where he majored in Public Policy. He initially planned to pursue a career in law, but instead chose to follow his passion for acting in Los Angeles. His big break came when he landed the role of Justin on the first season of ABC's mega-hit TV series "Desperate Housewives", starring alongside Eva Longoria and Shawn Pyfrom.

Since then, Carnes has continued to book steady work, earning international recognition. He made a memorable appearance on the legendary British sci-fi series "Doctor Who" as the popular character Laszlo, forever immortalized in action figure form. He also fulfilled his childhood dream of playing a superhero in the title role of the SYFY limited run series "The Phantom". In 2016, Carnes took on the role of a troubled wanderer in the short film "The Golden Year", written and directed by Salvador Paskowitz. He also starred opposite Mexican superstar Omar Chaparro in "La Boda de Valentina", one of Mexico's top 10 grossing films of all time.

As a creative artist, Carnes lent his voice to the development of the Paramount+ hit "Why Women Kill", Season 3. He will also serve as producer on the project.
