Rya Meyers, a driven and ambitious actress, is rapidly making a name for herself in the entertainment industry. Born and raised in the sun-kissed state of California, Rya's academic prowess earned her the distinction of valedictorian of her high school class, followed by a bachelor's degree with honors from the prestigious University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Prior to her professional acting career, Rya honed her skills by performing for the Walt Disney Company at Disneyland Park in Anaheim and later joined the entertainment department at Universal Studios Hollywood. Her theatrical debut was marked by her starring role as Rachel Scott in the world premiere of "The Columbine Project" in Los Angeles, for which she received a nomination for an Artistic Director's Achievement Award for Best Actress. This critically acclaimed performance was later reprised Off-Broadway in New York.
Rya's early career was characterized by her involvement in student projects from various film schools across southern California. She soon transitioned to independent shorts and features, and as web series began to gain popularity, she landed the lead role in "Kill Spin," a project specifically developed for the social networking/shopping/new media site Lockerz.
Throughout her journey, Rya has been fortunate enough to study with renowned acting coaches Janet Alhanti, Alice Carter, and Brian Reise. She has also honed her improv comedy skills at the renowned Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) and is a part of the tight-knit actor's collective led by Brad Fleischer.
Rya's television debut was marked by a guest appearance on the popular teen drama "Pretty Little Liars," followed by recurring roles on shows such as "The Mindy Project," "NCIS: New Orleans," "Sleepy Hollow," "How to Get Away with Murder," and "MacGyver." Her new media projects have garnered millions of views, including the short film "The 5 Stages After a Breakup" and the vignette series "The Flip Side."
Rya's feature film credits include the star-studded ensemble comedy "Table 19," where she played the best friend of Anna Kendrick and sister of Wyatt Russell. Constantly seeking to improve and expand her skillset, Rya is always studying, creating, and working on new projects.
