Mendoza's remarkable debut feature, La sociedad del semáforo, has garnered widespread recognition, winning an astonishing 15 international awards. Notably, during its development stage, the film received numerous accolades, including the prestigious Carolina Foundation Screenwriting Grant, the Screenwriting Stimulus from the Colombian Film Development Fund (FDC),and a grant to attend the esteemed TYPA Foundation's screenwriting lab in Colón, Argentina.
